Cecilia Vitas

Cecilia Vitas Volcoff Kasher was born in the US, raised in Argentina and Israel and gained her professional education in California.

Cecilia completed her Master's degree in Architecture summa cum laude in 2024, at Tel Aviv University. Her research focused on the urban public space, with an emphasis on the influence of individuals’ actions on the design of the common realm.

With a strong multidisciplinary background in environmental and industrial design, her practice tends to blur the edges from seriousness to playfulness, craft to advanced technology and from unique objects to mini architecture. Her work is rooted in rigorous research and study, with inspirational solutions found in the natural surroundings as well as the human behavior observation, while always examining the spatial relationships between man, object and the environment.
Today, her studio is located in Tivon, Israel, where she engages in a diverse range of activities from designing outdoor elements, exhibitions, furniture and interior design, to creating site specific installations and issuing furniture patent registration. In addition, she initiates and promotes collaborations with industries, as well as promotes art projects for specific communities.

In parallel to her practice, Cecilia’s academic career involves serving as a senior lecturer at the Department of Industrial Design at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem.

Cecilia has received numerous awards and gained international recognition throughout her career. Her work has been exhibited in selected galleries and featured in acclaimed international publications.
