Sela Auditorium

Wayfinding system for the Sela Auditorium, The Weizmann Institute, Rehovot

The Michael Sela Auditorium is the cultural and conference venue on the campus of the Weizmann Institute of Science, in Rehovot. Built in 1955 by architects Arieh Sharon, Nahum Zelkind and Benjamin Idelson, it conformed to the modernist approach to public buildings at the time, influenced by the International Style. Its thorough make-over by HQ Architects, completed in early 2020, doubled and redesigned the lobby area. The signage system was based on bronze letters, oxidized to a dark-brown tone, similar to the finish of the bronze in the original building.
