The Van Leer Jerusalem Institute is an established research institute, focusing on philosophy, society and culture. In August 2013, a new building was erected on the Van Leer campus: the Polonsky Academy for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences at the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute. The building was designed by Chyutin Architects, who won the architectural competition in 2008.
