Sign Masterplans

Creating an effective signage system for an extensive urban environment – a university campus, an airport, an entire city – is a serious challenge. The primary imperative underlying any sign masterplan is the development of a set of principles and rules that will serve as a platform for the planning and design of signs in a given area. The masterplan is a dynamic mechanism that allows the client long-term flexibility in the continuous operation of the system.  

Over the years, we have developed a methodology that assists us in creating and developing sign masterplans for different clients. It is based on a multi-phase plan that begins with the documentation and analysis of the existing situation, and continues with a mapping of the area in question, distinguishing sub-areas and arteries and identifying important destinations. The next phase is the design and preparation of technical specifications for the sign system, concluding with coordination and supervision of the work in the field.
